Film Competition „Military Camera” is held within the framework of the International Festival of Military Films

The Competition has international character.
-
Participation in the Competition is open for filmmakers and producers of films on military subjects, acting on the area of the member states of NATO.

Festival director shall invite to take part in the Competition.

Festival director may invite representatives of non-member states of NATO to take part in the Festival.

The CYBER Foundation is the Organizer of the Competition.
-
Organizational Office set up by the CYBER Foundation shall supervise works on substantive and organizational aspects of the Competition.

The Competition shall be held in the following categories:
- documentary (including educational) film

feature film
-
The Organizer of the Competition may institute additional categories of the Competition.

Films produced during two years preceding the date of the Festival, which did not take part in competitions of similar nature, may be entered for screening in the Competition.

Documentary films may be admitted for the Competition, when their joint projection time does not exceed 50 minutes.

Films may be entered for Competition on DVD and/or - B-Cam, and in the case of 35mm feature films - on DVD and Beta-Cam. Films sent to the address of the Organizational Office shall not be returned.

The deadline for entering films for the Competition is 28 February 2009.

Entrants for the Competition shall fill the Application Form and send it to the address of the Organizational Office. The Application Form is an Annex to these Regulations.

The Participant in the Competition shall attach to the Aplication Form the music cue sheet, short synopsis and dialogue list in English.

Signature on the Application Form indicates approval of all provisions of these Regulations by the Participant in the Competition. In controversial issues, provisions of the Polish Civil Proceedings Code and the Copyright Law shall be applicable.

Films sent to the Organizational Office after the deadline set up in §3 item 4 shall not be qualified for the Competition, but they may be presented to the public within the framework of off-competition screenings.

The Qualification Commission appointed by the Organizer of the Competition shall decide about qualification of films for the Competition. The Commission’s decision is final and does not require justification.

The Polish Institute of Film Art shall appoint one member of the Qualification Commission.

The Qualification Commission shall announce the list of the films qualified for the Competition by 31 March 2009.

The Film entered and qualified for the Competition cannot be withdrawn from the Competition.

Application for participation in the Competition is tantamount to the acceptance of these Regulations.

The International Jury shall decide about the results of the Competition and prizes.

The Organizer of the Competition in co-ordination with the Ministry of National Defense and the Polish Institute of Film Art appoint the Jury.

The verdict of the Jury is final.

The following statutory prizes are established:

Competition of documentary films:
- Golden Saber – the prize of the Minister of National Defense
- Silver Saber – the prize of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense
- Bronze Saber – the prize of the Chief of the General Staff
- 3 distinctions of the commanders of armed forces
- the Prize of the Polish Filmmakers Association
- Competition of feature films:
- Golden Saber – the prize of the Minister of National Defense
- Silver Saber – the prize of the Chief of the General Staff
- Bronze Saber – the prize of the Chief of the General Staff
- the Prize of the Polish Institute of Film Art

Non-statutory prizes may be established by private persons, institutions and organizations in co-ordination with the Organizational Office of the Festival.
International Festival of Military Films
Military Camera
Warsaw, May 2009
On the initiative of the Polish filmmakers community involved in military subjects gathered around the CYBER Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of National Defense and the Polish Institute of Film Art, International Festival of Military Films will be held in Warsaw on 3-8 May 2009.
The Festival is a part of celebrations of 10th anniversary of Poland’s participation in NATO.
The aim of the Festival is popularization of film art on military subjects, integration of international community of filmmakers, promotion of cultural and educational values common for the society and its armed forces.
